The ICPNA holds a long tradition of promoting arts through the organization of annual and biennial events in the Exhibit Halls of Engraving, Watercolor, Sculpture, Drawing, and Painting. These are provided as a means to encourage the creation and promotion of young local artists from all over the country. Every three years, the ICPNA also organizes the International Sculpture Encounter that summons sculptors from the whole world. For one week, each artist is in charge of creating a piece that will later be exhibited in one of the ICPNA galleries. Those of more continuity are the watercolor and the engraving contests that have uninterruptedly developed since 1971 and 1965, respectively.
Likewise, as part of the Institute activities, there are programs in its five galleries for individual and collective exhibits of Peruvian and foreign artists.
